About Me
Born in Lima Peru, Leyla moved to Los Angeles California at the age of 20 and started a very successful career as a Studio singer and Voice Over Artist. She has recorded background vocals for an impressive list of international stars, such a Gloria Estefan, Justin Timberlake, Chris Stapleton, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Juan Gabriel, Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, Marc Anthony, Julio Iglesias, Luis Miguel, Enrique Iglesias, to mention a few. She has sung live at the Grammys with Sam Smith, Camila Cabello, Alejandro Sanz, Carlos Santana, Shakira, Placido Domingo, Pepe Aguilar, Alejandro Fernandez, among others. She sang at the Oscars with Mary J. Blige. She has also sung in movies like Ice Age 2, Happy Feet, The Emperor’s New Groove, Nacho Libre, Along Came Polly, Sea Biscuit, and recently ENCANTO, the Academy Award Winner as Best Animated Featured Film, where she not only sang music written by Lin Manuel Miranda and Germaine Franco but she also had a solo on We Don’t Talk About Bruno, which has been #1 for over 6 weeks on Billboard.
As a Voice Over Artist, she has been the institutional voice for advertising campaigns such as Macy’s, Ralph’s Supermarkets, Ross, TJ Maxx, and Toyota, to mention a few.
Leyla also does Vocal Coaching in Spanish, having coached artist such as Christina Aguilera on her latest EP La Fuerza, Selena Gomez (whose Spanish EP, Revelación, got a Grammy nomination as Best Latin Pop Album), Demi Lovato, Gwen Stefani, Josh Groban, and Matthew Morrison from Glee.
Leyla was the lead vocalist for the presentation of David Beckham’s new soccer team, Inter Miami FC. Also, her voice can be heard at the “Viva Navidad Parade” at California Adventure. Recently she was a featured artist and sang with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Jorge Calandrelli (Orchestra arranger for Tony Bennet, Lady Gaga, Barbara Streisand, Ella Fitzgerald).
Being a strong believer in Jesus Christ, Leyla uses her gifts to glorify God and leads worship every Sunday at her church Shepherd Church Woodland Hills, in California.
